On February 15, H.E. Mr. Daisuke Yamamoto, Consul General of Japan in Jeddah, held a reception at his Residence to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor. The reception was attended by officials, diplomats, businessmen and friends from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Yamamoto expressed his congratulations to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of Saudi Foundation Day which is one day earlier to His Majesty’s birthdate.
He added that he came to the Kingdom for the first time 20 years ago and he is very happy to return again to the Kingdom. Adding that he is completely amazed by the great changes and qualitative shift that the Kingdom witnessed during these years in various fields. It is a change that resembles a miracle.
The Consul General said that Japan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia enjoy a long history of friendly and cooperative relations based on mutual respect and common interests, and the relations between them have become stronger and deeper in various fields, especially in recent years as in last July, H.E. Mr. Fumio Kishida, Prime Minister of Japan, made a historic state visit to Jeddah, during which he met with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He affirmed that the visit contributed to strengthening existing cooperation to achieve the goals of the comprehensive and ambitious plan “Saudi Vision 2030” through the joint committee “Saudi-Japanese Vision 2030”.
His Excellency referred to the cultural exchange between the two countries” the Consulate-General had organized in last March a Japanese cultural festival for four days in cooperation with Hayy Jameel in Jeddah, which provided the opportunity for more than 5,000 visitors interested in Japan and its culture to enjoy a wide range of Japanese cultural components include films, tea ceremonies, music and Japanese food during the festival”.
Mr. Yamamoto concluded his speech by saying that next year 2025 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Saudi Arabia and he hopes that this will be an opportunity to further develop the relationship between our two countries and enhance mutual understanding with the Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, assuring that the Consulate-General of Japan in Jeddah will make every possible efforts to strengthen and deepen these relations.
