Hong Kong hospitality pioneer Cafe Deco Group along with its affiliated company Food Square, which operates Chef’s Cuts, celebrates the opening of a quartet of much-anticipated restaurants at THE SOUTHSIDE, nestled within the vibrant neighbourhood of Wong Chuk Hang this June. Reflecting the ambition of the Group, the four exciting culinary concepts promise to redefine the local food scene in Hong Kong’s Southern District with unique, crowd-pleasing flavours and distinctive environments.

Set to open their doors in late June 2024 are new branches of these culinary gems: Japanese green tea and matcha café leader nana’s green tea; chic contemporary Thai restaurant Bamboo Thai; time-honoured Taiwanese home-recipe star Duan Chun Zhen; and premium steak and seafood expert Chef’s Cuts.

nana’s green tea – Expanding the Matcha Magic from Japan’s Premier Teahouse

Beloved Japanese teahouse nana’s green tea is excited to announce the opening of its second Hong Kong café following the tremendous success of its AIRSIDE flagship. The highly anticipated new branch at THE SOUTHSIDE will bring the authentic flavours of Japan to cultured diners in southern Hong Kong Island.

Debuting in Hong Kong last year, nana’s green tea is the largest matcha-branded café chain in Japan. On top of an impressive portfolio of 70 locations across the country, the green tea specialist has international outlets in Taiwan, Singapore, Australia, the United States and Canada. Celebrated for an exquisite array of teas, tea-infused cakes, ice cream and parfaits, and an artfully curated savoury menu, it also embraces the mindful, joyful and harmonious Japanese hospitality ethos of omotenashi.

Defying the conventions of a typical café chain, each nana’s green tea outlet has its own identity while embodying the serenity of a modern Japanese tea ceremony. Framed by a contemporary pergola with light wood and a dappled ceiling treatment nodding playfully to nature’s bright charms, THE SOUTHSIDE location spans 1,400 sq. ft, offering 56 seats.
