Muscat, Oman –-– The Royal Opera House Muscat opened the new year of 2025 with a dazzling winter wonderland performance of Beauty and the Beast on Ice on January 2,3, & 4. The fairy tale performance enchanted audiences with a spectacular blend of elite ice skating and original music composition, all set against the stunning backdrop of a frozen stage. Presented by the renowned UK-based company, International Ice Stars, the world’s leading theatrical ice show producers and pioneers of the theatre-based ice show genre, Beauty and the Beast on Ice inspired and delighted family audiences of all ages. The performance proved to be nothing short of magical.

A particularly special highlight of the show was the participation of Amani Fancy, who’s remarkable skating journey began in Oman. Amani, a trailblazing Omani-British ice skater, learnt to skate at the age of six on a small ice-rink in Al Khuwair. Returning to Oman to perform as Beauty seems a fairy tale in itself. Amani is a two-time British Pair Skating Champion, ranked 12th in Europe and 16th in the world, and the winner of ‘Dancing on Ice’ in both the UK and Germany. Amani’s dedication and skill has led her to become a top figure in the world of ice skating. The elite skater expressed her joy at being back in Oman to perform: “I’m so excited to finally have the opportunity to perform in my home country where my love for ice skating started. I hope to send a positive message to the next generation of Omanis, to inspire them to fulfil their dreams, I truly believe the value in investing in a new generation of skaters”.

Following this extraordinary performance, the Royal Opera House Muscat continues its vibrant 2025 season with an exceptional line-up of events.
