Baros Maldives has crafted an incredible new experience to mark its recent win at the World Travel Awards, where it was recognised as the “World’s Most Romantic Resort” for the 7th time since 2012. Guests can now set sail on Nooma, the resort’s traditional sailing boat for a special Indian Ocean journey, choosing from either a Maldivian, Sri Lankan, or Indian themed voyage that incorporates the best in relaxation and gastronomy from each country.

As Nooma drifts through the picturesque North Male Atoll, guests first take in the sunset whilst enjoying a selection of gourmet canapés, and as dusk settles, indulge in a revitalising treatment by one of Baros’ expert therapists. The evening concludes with a four-course menu on board the lush Maldivian dhoni.

Guests who opt for the Maldivian spa treatment will enjoy a 100% natural scrub containing ingredients that leave the skin glowing, followed by a sublime, relaxing massage. If Sri Lanka is their preferred destination, guests are offered a nourishing body wrap for silky smooth skin; velvety monoi oil is applied for hydration, followed by a massage that focuses on relieving tension. The Indian Abhyanga and Shirodhara treatment begins with a rhythmic massage which stimulates circulation, followed by a stream of oil being gently poured over the forehead to improve clarity.

Following their treatment, Nooma will then be anchored in the Baros lagoon, where guests dine under the stars and enjoy a delicious Maldivian, Sri Lankan or Indian four course menu.

The Maldivian culinary offering starts with traditional Mezze, followed by Garudiya, a fish broth with vegetables, a tasting spread featuring chicken, fish and vegetarian curries, ending with Maldivian sweets. Guests opting for the Sri Lankan menu can enjoy fish cutlets, coconut Roti and Seeni Sambal, followed by pumpkin soup and a Ceylonese prawn curry, chicken black curry, tempered potatoes, Brinjal Morju and coconut sambal, and a traditional sweets sampler. The voyage to India starts with a Green Job Tikka, marinaded sea prawns, a rich tomato Dhaniya Shorba broth, and continues with a traditional Indian lamb curry, Paneer Butter Masala and Indian Black Dal, ending with a classic Indian dessert sampler.

Each meal is prepared using the finest in fresh local ingredients and crafted on-board Nooma by a private chef, as guests are left to create memorable moments to cherish for a lifetime.
