Dubai, UAE-: Newly appointed Executive Chef, Yannis Sgard, has taken over the reins at the world’s highest restaurant, located on Level 122 of Burj Khalifa, bringing with him over a decade of experience in Michelin-starred restaurants and renowned dining destinations in France and the UAE.
Tasked with taking the award-winning restaurant and lounge’s culinary standards to the next level, French national Sgard will be responsible for spearheading menu development as well as exploring seasonal trends and adding his own unique creative perspective to the restaurant offering.
Prior to joining the At.mosphere team he was Head Chef at Gault et Millau one toque Eugène Eugène in Dubai, where he led the operation from pre-opening through to its emergence as one of the city’s most popular dining spots for modern brasserie cuisine. He was also previously a key member of the kitchen brigade at Jumeirah Group’s Michelin-starred Al Muntaha restaurant in Burj Al Arab.
Sgard’s Michelin pedigree spans 10 years in his native France where he worked with a high-profile line-up of legendary chefs including Christian Le Squer at three Michelin-starred Le Cinq, Four Seasons George V, Paris, where he headed up research and development in his role at senior chef de partie.
A two-year stint under one of France’s most celebrated chefs, Michel Roth at Restaurant Lasserre, and various apprenticeships including 114 Faubourg at Hôtel Le Bristol, were all instrumental in shaping his personal and professional culinary journey.
