AlUla : AlUla will once again take centre stage on the international equestrian calendar with the return of AlFursan Endurance AlUla on 7 and 8 February 2026, marking the seventh edition of the world-class riding event and serving as a major preview ahead of the FEI Endurance World Championship.

Renowned for attracting elite international competitors, AlFursan Endurance AlUla has firmly established itself as one of the most prestigious endurance events in the world. Sanctioned by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI), the competition sees the world’s leading riders and Arabian horses tackle up to 160km of challenging terrain; testing stamina, skill, strategy, and the unique partnership between rider and horse.

Set against AlUla’s dramatic landscapes and ancient landmarks, the 2026 event will be hosted at the Mohammed Yousuf Naghi AlFursan Equestrian Village – a state-of-the-art venue purpose-built to the highest international standards. This year’s course will pass by some of AlUla’s most iconic sites, including Elephant Rock, and Hegra, creating truly unmissable moments for visitors and spectators as endurance racing unfolds against extraordinary natural and cultural backdrops. The village forms the heart of AlUla’s growing equestrian ecosystem, offering world-class facilities including training areas, veterinary services, and infrastructure designed to support both elite competition and memorable spectator experiences.

Beyond the race itself, AlFursan Endurance AlUla is a celebration of AlUla’s deep-rooted equestrian heritage and cultural identity. Spectators can look forward to immersive cultural experiences, captivating performances, and interactive activations delivered in collaboration with national institutions, alongside live entertainment, rider engagements, and family-friendly activities that bring the event atmosphere to life.

The 2026 event holds particular significance as it builds momentum toward the FEI Endurance World Championship, hosted in AlUla on 28 November 2026. The championship represented the pinnacle of long-distance equestrian sport and will welcome the best endurance riders on the planet to compete across AlUla’s diverse and demanding terrain.

With millennia of horsemanship etched into its sandstone cliffs, AlUla has long honoured the bond between human and horse. In recent years, the region has emerged as a global hub for equestrian sport, hosting landmark events including the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Endurance Cup and AlUla Desert Polo. These events underline AlUla’s unique ability to combine top-level sporting excellence with cherished cultural heritage.

Organised in partnership with the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation and supported by the Royal Commission for AlUla, AlFursan Endurance AlUla symbolises the region’s broader ambition to cement its status as a premier global destination for equestrian sport, while creating lasting economic, social, and cultural opportunities for the local community in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

AlFursan Endurance AlUla forms part of the AlUla Moments 2025/26 calendar – a year-round programme of cultural, sporting, and entertainment experiences that celebrate AlUla as one of the world’s most extraordinary locations. Other upcoming elite sports events include the professional cycling AlUla Tour, the AlUla Trail Race, and AlUla Desert Blaze.
