The Eastern Province Shines in Winter with Atmosphere, Seasons, and Events
In a mild winter climate, offering a variety of tourist experiences, cultural events, and marine and recreational activities, the Eastern Province shines as a comprehensive winter destination. It attracts family entertainment enthusiasts in Dammam, culture and knowledge lovers in Dhahran, and adventure seekers in Al-Khobar. The Saudi Winter 2026 program, launched this year by the Saudi Tourism Authority under the slogan “Winter Lives,” includes numerous activities and events to suit all tastes and make a visit to the Eastern Province an unforgettable experience.
With the first winter breezes on the Arabian Gulf coast, the Eastern Province transforms, ushering in a vibrant season of events where the sea meets culture, entertainment meets heritage, and Dammam, Dhahran, and Al-Khobar become open-air stages for diverse tourist experiences, reflecting a thriving winter tourism sector. At the heart of this vibrant scene shines the Khobar Season, running until January 31st. It promises days brimming with music, arts, and family activities, reaffirming that the Eastern Province is no longer just a hub for business and industry, but a premier winter destination for enjoyment and discovery.
The Khobar Season boasts an exceptional array of events, with over 147 diverse activities across seven main zones. These zones encompass the main celebration area, the waterfront, and distinctive parks along the Corniche, in addition to family events, musical evenings, and cultural exhibitions.
The season offers a diverse range of entertainment, heritage, and musical activities, such as the Falcons Club Cup, Science and Technology Nights, and Big Bounce, the world’s largest inflatable amusement park. Alongside these events, concerts attract a wide audience from all walks of life. This winter, Khobar transforms into a vibrant destination, brimming with events, coastal restaurants, shops, and beachfront hotels that reflect the city’s lively charm. The Naseem Al Khobar beachfront area offers a tranquil seaside experience, with expansive open sea views, comfortable seating areas, and a family-friendly atmosphere. Just as visitors to the Eastern Province are enjoying the Khobar Season this winter, they can also enjoy the Ithra Winter Season in Dhahran, held at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) until the end of April. Ithra offers a comprehensive program of artistic and cultural activities, workshops, and musical performances suitable for all ages, transforming the center’s spaces into platforms for inspiration and discovery, where art meets community in a rich experience that blends creativity with culture.
In addition to Khobar and Dhahran, Dammam stands as a major gateway for tourism in the Eastern Province. The Dammam Corniche offers a delightful experience for strolling, relaxing, and enjoying its enchanting beaches, along with green spaces, parks, and dedicated trails for children and families, making it an essential destination for visitors seeking outdoor activities and water sports.
Dammam also boasts numerous public parks, shopping centers, and modern restaurants, adding a social and recreational dimension to a visit, making it an ideal choice year-round. These events are launched in conjunction with the Saudi Winter program, “Winter Neighborhood,” which this year includes 8 diverse winter destinations that reflect the great natural, climatic and cultural diversity that the Kingdom abounds in. It also offers more than 1,200 tourism products and more than 600 special offers, in which more than 100 private sector partners participate, through which they provide innovative products and quality experiences that enrich tourists’ choices and confirm the Kingdom’s position among the most prominent tourist destinations in the world.
