The new destination combines the arts with an epicurean twist
Dubai, U.A.E. – Gallery 7/40, the seaside restaurant at Palm West Beach, where sculpture, photography, and painting fuse with the culinary arts is NOW OPEN.
Bringing together state-of-the-art design inspired by Catalan modernist architect Antoni Gaudi, art pieces from famous artists across the globe, and tantalising Spanish and Greek flavours, diners are in for a world-class dining experience.
Owner Dmitry Braude describes the whole concept as a “space dedicated to art in every detail. It is a place where guests can dine and admire the beauty surrounding them. At Gallery 7/40, every detail, from the team’s uniform to the staircase handrail, the reception area, the DJ table, the table set-up, and the presentation of every dish, are amazing works of art.”
The interior design of Gallery 7/40 is one-of-a-kind, the first and only one in Dubai, highlighted by flowing lines, whimsically curved ceilings, and floors. The handrail, for example, is designed to be reminiscent of braided branches of trees and painted in gold.
The destination is also littered with vibrant mosaics, which Braude explained is the most complicated aspect of the restaurant. All mosaics used are custom-made, come in different shapes and sizes, and were assembled by the followers of Gaudi to match the overall theme of the venue. The Murano glass chandeliers, all four of them, are also bespoke in design and vary in colour. With a height of 1.6 metres, these stunning lighting fixtures are outstanding ornaments that luminate the space in a romantic fashion.
Worth mentioning is the tableware at Gallery 7/40. The design is inspired by the Japanese concept of kintsugi, the art of repairing broken pottery by mending areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum.
“The different artworks on display will influence how our guests feel,” Braude adds. For the opening, Gallery 7/40 will feature the limited edition works of famous Spanish photographer Daniel Rueda. It also plans to host exhibitions of very well-selected international and regional artists in the future.
At Gallery 7/40, art is not just on walls, but it’s in the beverages too. The restaurant has a superb art-themed beverage menu that pays homage to the world’s best artists.
Guests can view excellent art while enjoying Mediterranean-inspired fare, with a focus on Spanish and Greek recipes and flavours. The menu will be presented in a simple yet playful style, pairing perfectly with the colourful ambiance of the venue and surrounding scenery of Palm West Beach.
Gallery 7/40 will have a seating capacity of 300 with indoor and outdoor seating, a pool, and beach access.
