Abu Dhabi-: The Abu Dhabi Festival is delighted to reflect on the triumphant evening that unfolded at The Blue Hall, The Arts Center NYU Abu Dhabi, on 1 February 2024, featuring the exceptional talents of renowned cellist Pablo Ferrández and pianist Luis Del Valle.
Pablo Ferrández, hailed as a ‘new cello genius,’ mesmerised the audience with his captivating performance. The evening began with the enchanting melodies of Manuel de Falla’s Seven Canciones Populares, setting the tone for a musical journey that spanned diverse emotions and eras. The duo then delved into powerful and romantic territory with Beethoven’s Sonata for Cello and Piano No. 3, Rachmaninov’s hauntingly beautiful Vocalise and Franck’s masterful Sonata in A major.
Ferrández and Del Valle’s seamless collaboration brought forth an exceptional synergy, leaving the audience in awe of their technical prowess and profound musicality. The duo’s interpretation of each piece resonated with the listeners, creating an atmosphere of pure magic within The Blue Hall.

He is joined by the pianist Luis del Valle, the recipient of the International Music Award from the German Broadcasting Corporation. The captivating programme features sonatas and timeless pieces by Beethoven, Rachmaninov, Franck and Manuel de Falla.’
