Dubai, UAE – Time Out Market Dubai encourages its guests to join the acknowledgement of World Environment Day on June 5, by recycling plastic bottles to form a Burj Khalifa shaped piece of art.

Time Out Market Dubai is a vibrant food and cultural market that brings the best of the city together under one roof – based on editorial curation. Located in the Souk Al Bahar in Downtown Dubai, guests can explore 17 different food concepts by the city’s best chefs and restaurateurs, 3 bars and a location filled with creativity and culture.

Aimed to inspire people to take action, World Environment Day highlights the importance of making a positive change within your own community. To mark the occasion on June 5, Time Out Market Dubai presents its latest pop-up installation that will feature an iconic Burj Khalifa shaped structure and encourage guests to play their part by adding their used plastic bottles into the structure, together creating a unique artwork.

At the pop-up, guests can also scan a QR Code to unleash an immersive augmented reality experience created by Hiram Cruz, a Dubai based artist. Hiram’s digital artwork will bring to life the Burj Khalifa structure through the lens of a phone to give the viewer a deeper insight into World Environment Day.

Hiram Cruz is making waves in Dubai by redefining art through technology. Merging his design expertise with a passion for pushing boundaries, he creates innovative compositions and experiences that are bold, iconic, and message-driven. His captivating art promotes positive values and messaging, with a goal of creating a better community. Hiram was one of the artists discovered by Time Out Market Dubai at the Art pop-up that was held in March, inviting local artists to submit their portfolios to win a chance to exhibit at the Market.

Time Out Market Dubai prides itself on using only crockeries and glassware – rather than serving on or in plastic – and incorporates sustainable initiatives such as its compost machines from The Waste Lab,  which ensure food waste produced by the Market is converted into usable soil.
