Anyone visiting Zurich should take a boat trip. Passengers can see the snow-capped Alps on the horizon while heading to Ufenau island – a nature reserve on Lake Zurich that has been in possession of Einsiedeln Abbey since the year 965. A visit to idyllic Ufenau is a beautiful experience, thanks to its medieval churches and the welcoming restaurant, Haus zu den zwei Raben.
Adventurers can also pay a visit to Lützelau, an island mentioned in documents from the 8th century, where it was sold to St. Gallen Monastery. Today, Lützelau Island is a nature reserve, including its shoreline area and spans 300 meters long, 150 meters wide and provides space for a campground, three spots for making a fire and a small restaurant, which serves barbecue specialities, which are all cared for by the island custodians.
