Saudi Ministry of Tourism set to discuss Saudi’s investment potential at 2021 International Hospitality Investment Forum


  • The Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia to attend alongside the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia (MISA) as part of wider KSA engagement with industry leaders
  • Deputy Minister of Investment Attraction, Mahmoud Abdulhadi, to provide updates on the rollout of Saudi’s National Tourism Strategy, Destination Readiness and Development Strategy as it prepares for domestic and foreign investment 

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: – The Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia will participate in the International Hospitality Investment Forum (IHIF) which will be hosted at the InterContinental Berlin, Germany, from 1st to 3rd of September. The forum, which will welcome over 170 industry leading speakers and participants from 80 countries, seeks to provide a platform where discussions, debates, and lessons regarding the recovery and future of the hospitality industry can take place. The Ministry of Tourism’s attendance at the forum will showcase the Kingdom’s growing tourism industry to prospective investors, giving them a broader understanding of the developments that have been made as well as investment opportunities. 

Deputy Minister of Investment Attraction, Mahmoud Abdulhadi, is scheduled to take part in a one-on-one chat titled ‘Championing Sustainable Growth’ which will be moderated by Ben Martin, a Principal and Financial Advisory Leader at HKS Architects. The conversation will focus on the Saudi’s ambition to create a sustainable tourism market that provides stable growth and opportunities whilst protecting the Kingdom’s natural environment. 

 “The opportunities for domestic and foreign investors are abundant, and by investing now, our partners can directly contribute to the growth and development of our nascent international tourism sector. As the largest untapped tourism hotspot in the world and home to the world’s largest tourism projects, there is tremendous investment potential within the Kingdom,” said Mahmoud Adbulhadi, Deputy Minister of Investment Attraction.  Adbulhadi commented that the forum will provide an opportunity to “update industry leaders on preparations that have continued throughout the duration of the pandemic, including its recently launched Destination Readiness and Development Strategy, to ensure Saudi is ready to build upon a promising start as it once again welcomes foreign tourists.”  

Mahmoud Adbulhadi’s one-on-one with Ben Martin will take place on 3rd September 2021 between 9.55am and 10.15 [CET].  

The Ministry of Tourism will be represented at IHIF in conjunction with the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia (MISA), and Saudi Arabia’s gigaprojects as part of the Invest Saudi booth. Invest Saudi is the 2021 International Hospitality Forum’s Country Patron Sponsor. The Invest Saudi booth will provide attendees of IHIF an opportunity to be introduced a variety of the Kingdom’s investment opportunities, and representatives will be present throughout the duration of the Forum.
