You can taste crabs from the Far East, fresh tomatoes and chocolate from Russia, and alternative meat dishes at the Made in Russia booth at the Gulfood 2023 international food, beverage, and culinary expo, which will take place on 20–24 February at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Dubai-: The collaborative Russian booth will feature major producers of grain, butter, and halal products, including meat, caviar, milk, and beverages, as well as small and young FoodTech companies that produce plant-based meat and fish, medical and dietary food, premium chocolate using bean-to-bar technology, healthy desserts without flour and sugar, and much more. The Made in Russia booth will offer tastings over the five days of the expo. Russia is famous for its confectionery products, and the expo will have a special place for sweets, which will be presented by 28 companies.
In addition to showcasing food products, the Russian participants have also prepared tech innovations. One exhibitor will demonstrate Smart Ice freezing technology that preserves the taste and texture of dishes at a temperature of -18°C degrees, as well as technology to defrost and cook these dishes within 6 minutes.
During the expo, Russian entrepreneurs will have a chance to negotiate or schedule an appointment to discuss the supply of Russian goods. The Middle East is one of the most important export drivers for Russian agricultural products. Russia has a good understanding of the UAE market and produces several halal-certified meat products that have proven to be high-quality, eco-friendly, and competitive on the market.
In 2021 alone, Russian producers delivered barley, wheat, sunflower oil, poultry meat, and chocolate worth USD 838 million to the Persian Gulf countries. The most popular products are barley and wheat, sunflower oil is at third place. Exports in this region have also increased in 2022.
The exposition at the collaborative Made in Russia booth, which has an area of more than 1,000 square metres, will be the largest since Russian companies began participating in Gulfood. This year, the organizers paid special attention to their approach in presenting Russian brands. Each square metre of the exposition is designed so that presentations, business meetings, and informal activities will be as comfortable as possible for each visitor.
In addition to convenience and functionality, technological innovations were used to arrange the space: there is an interactive multimedia panel with content developed by Russian digital artists and a unique corner 3D screen with CG content that is designed to offer a naked eye effect and immerse visitors in the atmosphere of the expo. An interactive touch panel will provide visitors with vivid memories using algorithms and neural networks developed by Russian digital artists, and guests will be able to create their own unique portrait postcard with works of art from the Russian Museum.
