Representing a journey of evolution for both Italian cuisine and Monno, the new tasting menu presents a collection of signature and most-cherished dishes from both land and sea
Artisanal Italian restaurant, Monno will launch a new tasting menu dining experience today, inviting guests to enjoy a thoughtful five-course dinner prepared by Italian Head Chef Federico Bartoli and his team.
Representing a journey of evolution for both Italian cuisine and Monno, the new tasting menu presents a collection of signature and most-cherished dishes from both land and sea that remain true and respectful to both ingredient and Italian culinary tradition. Dish by dish, unique creations tell a story that can only be discovered at Monno.
Priced at AED 250 for five courses, the tasting menu experience allows diners to opt for a seafood-led menu or a journey that focuses on meaty finds from the farm.
From the sea, expect dinner to begin with ‘gnocco fritto’ – deep fried dough stuffed with creamy burrata and topped with Baeri caviar, followed by ‘la tana del polpo’ – slow cooked octopus that’s marinated and roasted, served with potato cream and seaweed tapioca cracker. For a taste of the Italian seaside comes ‘ink tortellini & baby clams’ – a dish comprising homemade ink tortellini filled with potatoes and bacon, served with baby clams and a deliciously light sea water broth. For main, ‘Glacier 51’ presents Antarctic seabass pan-fried in clarified butter and served in a delicate tomato water with pickled red onions, confit rainbow cherry tomatoes and topped with caper leaf. The ocean-inspired tasting menu concludes with a refreshing dessert of made-in-house vanilla gelato.
For those that enjoy flavours from the land, the menu begins with a serving of the iconic Italian meatball with San Marzano tomato sauce, followed by a wagyu beef carpaccio topped with truffle and a mustard gelato. A Monno signature dish, ‘ravioli al tartufo’ comes next, presenting homemade ravioli filled with buffalo ricotta, drizzled with indulgent parmesan and veal sauce and topped with fresh shavings of truffle. For main, ‘filetto di manzo affumicato’ sees tender beef filet smoked with oak wood and rosemary served with polenta, taleggio cheese cream and porcini mushroom. For dessert, homemade hazelnut gelato offers an indulgent close to the meal.
Welcoming guests in a charming space, Monno presents a wholesome and authentic Italian experience for all ages. Soothing music greets upon arrival, while a chilled-out vibe ensures a relaxing visit – whether it be for romantic dinner date with a loved one or a special dinner with family and friends, Monno is abundant with laidback idyllic moments for everyone.
Inside Monno, expect interiors and an ambiance inspired by that of a classic Trattoria found on the back streets of quaint towns in Italy. Designed with rustic simplicity in mind, Monno aims to evoke the feeling of being at home for its guests. Comprising a welcoming bar area that features a live pizza oven, a main dining room and covered terrace where natural lighting gleams, the eatery is thoughtfully designed with the use of products that inspire a natural setting like wooden tables and chairs, black and white checkered flooring, olive trees, jade green furnishings and cream linens.
The new tasting menu experience at Monno will launch on February 1, 2023 and will be available daily for dinner service.
