Mondoux Launches Second Location at The Beach, JBR


New casual-dining destination opens on Dubai’s buzzing beachfront


After much anticipation, the European-inspired lifestyle restaurant Mondoux has recently opened its second location at The Beach, JBR. Part of the homegrown Slovakian brand – Mondieu – the concept serves an international homemade all-day menu using the finest ingredients and offers a wide selection of premium specialty coffees and signature warm chocolate.

A brainchild of Igor Sarkanyi and Katarina Filipova, a husband-and-wife duo and two passionate foodies, the new location follows the success of its original venue in Dubai Creek Harbour that debuted in the UAE in January 2020. “We opened our first restaurant in Slovakia in 2013,” says Filipova, co-founder and owner, Mondoux. “Since then – in Europe – the brand has become a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. Prior to launching in Dubai, my husband and I visited the region regularly for over 10 years, studying the market and exploring the local food scene. We’ve now relocated to the city and call it our home. This opening is the 11th location in Mondieu’s international casual-dining F&B portfolio.”

Bright, tranquil and spacious, with a high ceiling and a mix of timeless wicker, wood and marble, Mondoux The Beach has the capacity to accommodate 150 visitors both indoors and on the green outdoor terrace. The restaurant is spread over two floors, with the main dining area, kitchen and designated kids’ play area located on the ground level, and the second level – accessible to staff only – housing the bakery. 

Katarina adds: “With the JBR location, we saw an opportunity to approach the project with an elevated and refined aesthetic. Though maintaining our brand identity, it has a different vibe and feel to our Dubai Creek Harbour branch. We’ve faced a few delays with the opening and are wrapping up some minor final touches of the design. It’s a great feeling to finally be here, to have the whole team on board and to be able to welcome guests. This locale is one of the busiest beachfronts in the city, and the team is really excited to see what this season and the next few months will bring.”

Not compromising on quality, sourcing prime ingredients and showcasing their natural flavour, Mondoux’s extensive offering spans healthy and wholesome breakfast, lunch and dinner options, alongside an array of desserts. The opening of The Beach location coincides with the launch of the new menu that features novel dishes such as the homemade French brioche toast with chocolate cream, goat cheese and figs toast, risotto with shrimp and asparagus, and the avocado beef burger, to name just a few. Old time favourites include croque madame, tuna steak with roasted vegetables and baby potatoes, and sweet and savoury European-style crepes. From the beverage selection, additional highlights include espresso with two-tone chocolate, espresso with chocolate and fresh roasted nuts, inverse cold cappuccino, and warm chocolate pots. 

Mondoux The Beach is open seven days a week from 8:00 am to midnight on weekdays, and 8:00am to 1:00am on weekends. Upto three hours of free parking is available for customers.
