- The ninth race of Season 9 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will take place in Monaco on May 6
- After a podium in Berlin, DS PENSKE is targeting another top performance on one of the most legendary racing circuits of them all
- Jean-Eric Vergne is currently third in the drivers’ championship, just 19 points off the leader
Monaco is the most eagerly-awaited race of the year. After two rounds in Berlin, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship heads to the glittering principality on Saturday May 6. For the sixth time since the all-electric series was created, the famous roads around Monte Carlo will host an E-Prix, with plenty of overtaking in store around the famous 3.3-kilometre track.
Strengthened by an excellent podium in Berlin, DS Automobiles and its partner PENSKE AUTOSPORT are intent on extending their haul of points. And for that, the team can rely on Jean-Eric Vergne in particular. Having claimed three podiums (including a race win) since the start of the season, the sport’s only two-time world champion is currently third in the title race, only 19 points behind the leader. With a win in Monaco last year behind him, the other ace up the sleeve of DS PENSKE will be reigning world champion Stoffel Vandoorne.
Thanks to an exceptional driver pairing and a very solid technical package, DS Automobiles has what it takes to star at the Monaco E-Prix once more. The most decorated team in the history of Formula E already won this race with Vergne in 2019 and Antonio Felix Da Costa in 2021.
The most glamorous race of the year gets underway on Saturday May 6 at 15:00 CET.
Eugenio Franzetti, DS Performance Director:
“After the high emotions of the two Berlin races meant that we reduced the gap to the championship leaders, we now face another very important race – both in terms of where it is and the points that are on offer! Monaco is one of the temples of motorsport and it’s key for us to do well there, as we already did twice before. That’s why we’ve worked so hard on this and prepared ourselves well for this epic competition. We set our ambitions high as always and we are determined to everything possible to achieve them, while remembering that we face very tough competition, and that this remains a truly unpredictable championship.”
