Dubai, UAE– Every year, Constance Hotels & Resorts host the highly-anticipated Constance Festival Culinaire. This gastronomic extravaganza brings together Michelin-starred chefs from around the globe to dazzle, compete, and tantalise taste buds with their culinary masterpieces. From March 11th to 19th, 2023, guests will be treated to a world of flavours on the shores of the Indian Ocean.
The Constance Festival Culinaire boasts four trophies: the Deutz Trophy, Bernard Loiseau Trophy, Pierre Hermé Trophy, and Art of the Table Trophy. Six European chefs with one Michelin star will go head-to-head with six “Constance Chefs” from Mauritius, the Maldives, and Seychelles in the Deutz and Bernard Loiseau Trophies. Meanwhile, the Pierre Hermé Trophy for the Constance Pastry Competition has gained equal prestige as the main culinary competition over the years. The Constance Festival Culinaire will focus on patisserie, with Constance Hotels & Resorts teaming up with Valrhona, the world’s finest French chocolate brand, chaired by Pierre Hermé, one of the great masters of sophisticated French patisserie & World’s Best Pastry Chef in 2016. New this edition, all Constance fans & festivalgoers will be invited to participate in this decision! The masterpieces of the four main competitions will be available on the festival’s website, and everyone can vote for the winning dishes.
The festival takes place at two Constance hotels in Mauritius, the Constance Belle Mare Plage, which was the inception of the group in 1975, and the Constance Prince Maurice, a true pioneer in the five-star deluxe category, opened its doors in 1998. Both hotels are located on the pristine white sandy beaches of Mauritius’s East coast and offer a unique experience. With luxurious accommodations, exceptional dining options, rejuvenating Constance Spas, and an exciting range of activities both on and off the water, the hotels cater to every kind of traveller, whether you’re a young family seeking adventure, a romantic duo in search of intimate moments, or a seasoned traveller exploring new horizons.
Constance Hotels & Resorts have since expanded across the Indian Ocean archipelagos with seven eco-chic resorts across Mauritius, Seychelles, Maldives, and Madagascar, and three championship golf courses (one in Seychelles and two in Mauritius). The group’s Mauritian roots are reflected in its warm hospitality and smiles. Each property celebrates fine cuisine in its unique way, sourcing delicious produce from their exceptional destinations. Guests can savour fresh food and beverages made with quality, locally sourced ingredients that stimulate both health and taste buds. Seasonal fruits and vegetables, most of which are locally cultivated, are served alongside omnipresent coconut water and refreshing lemongrass, which are tasty ingredients with numerous health benefits. The excellent fruits of the islands are used to prepare fresh juices, jams, and sorbets and are served at breakfast. And seafood lovers will delight in the benefits of the Indian Ocean’s rich marine life, from oysters to bourgeois fish or lobsters.
