The luxury hotel celebrates cinematic art and honours Emirati women through the lens of Emirati Women Film Directors.

Dubai – Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates salutes Emirati Women Film Directors and shines a spotlight on the exceptional achievements and contributions of Emirati women in the film industry on the occasion of Emirati Women’s Day. The hotel hosted a grand event at the impressive and private Vox Cinemas on August 28, 2023, and witnessed the remarkable presence of influential Emirati women, renowned directors, esteemed guests and top management.

 

Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates paid a fitting tribute to two renowned Emirati women filmmakers, Nora Bensahli and Eman Alsayed, and dedicated the celebration to the indomitable spirit of Emirati women and their invaluable contributions to the world of cinema. These two stars of the day presented a mesmerizing showcase of cinematic excellence, featuring a selection of films. Nora Bensahli, a distinguished Emirati Film Producer and Director, brought her precision and expertise to the forefront, and screened films like “The Diversion,” “Time’s Up,” “United But Divided,” and “Lost At Home.”  Eman Alsayed, an acclaimed Emirati filmmaker, left an indelible mark by displaying her thought-provoking creations such as The Choice, Blanket and Zakiya’s Moroccan Bath. Her short film “The Choice” has captivated audiences across numerous international festivals, while her script for “Blanket” earned her the prestigious Best Short Script award at the Dubai International Film Festival. Eman’s unique artistic vision is showcased in films such as “Zakiya’s Moroccan Bath” and “Animal Kingdom,” portraying her exceptional storytelling prowess. The event culminated in the screening of the selected films.

This Emirati Women’s Day, Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates not only created a platform for fostering support for the Emirati filmmaker community, but it was also a celebration of the brilliance and creativity of Emirati women. Guests engaged in meaningful exchanges followed by a special afternoon tea experience at Vox 15-seater private cinema, situated within the hotel.
