The Hästens Blue Check was first introduced in 1978 together with the 2000T bed, and it immediately stirred emotions. Jack Ryde, the 4th generation family owner and CEO, was dedicated to creating a distinct, bold and timeless pattern to represent the Hästens brand, where the bed becomes a centerpiece in the bedroom.
As an art and design enthusiast, Jack created the blue-and-white checkered pattern to counter the brown-green-orange fashion of the 1970s. There had never been anything like this pattern on a bed before.
With history as its judge, the iconic Blue Check has withstood the testament of time and remains synonymous with the Hästens brand name and acts as a stamp of quality to this day. Jack Ryde and the Blue Check forever challenged and altered the status quo and the traditional look and function of beds.
