COYA Dubai Bar Manager wins at the Johnnie Walker Black Label Global Bartender Challenge

Samy Rathnayake, COYA Dubai Bar Manager, is delighted to be the winner of the Asia and Australasia region at the prestigious Johnnie Walker Black Label Global Bartender Challenge.

Recognising his exceptional mixology skills and creativity, Samy was one of only four global winners to be selected out of 200 of the world’s best bartenders, all hailing from 47 different countries.

His winning concoction, the ‘Signatures Collector’, featured an enticing mix of Johnnie Walker Black Label, lemongrass, raspberry, and freshly squeezed lemon, topped with quinine soda and Angostura Bitter.

Judged in a tasting session in Oslo, Norway, the expert panel concluded that his entry video was seamlessly executed, and that it really brought to life the experience of enjoying a Johnnie Walker highball. They also noted that his cocktail was beautifully refreshing, and that it delivered on both flavour and quality.

Iftar the COYA Way

COYA Dubai, the immersive 360-degree Peruvian experience, is proud to present a unique iftar experience unlike anything else in the UAE. Recently ranked as number 28 on the prestigious MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants list, the vibrant restaurant’s five-course daily iftar showcases Peru’s most flavoursome specialties, all prepared with expert skill and premium quality ingredients.

Encouraging guests to celebrate Ramadan ‘the COYA way’, the experience takes guests on a journey through the colourful culture of Latin America.

Beginning at sunset with some sweet sukkari dates, guests are invited to relax within the beautiful restaurant and tuck into the brand’s iconic creamy guacamole, prepared fresh at the table. Diners are then presented with bowls of creamy sweet potato or tasty barley miso soup, before the beautifully presented appetisers are served to the table in a relaxed sharing-style format. Offering irresistible light bites such as artichoke ceviche, fresh corn salad, Chilean sea bass croquettes, chicken anticuchos, wagyu bao buns and more, every dish is packed with vibrant spices and flavours.

Following these elegant palate pleasers, guests are then asked to select one sumptuous main, including a choice of corn-fed baby chicken, salmon fillet with stir-fried quinoa, soy and green vegetables, beef ribs, Chilean sea bass rice and many more delectable options, all served with a side of spicy patatas bravas.

Finally, the memorable dining experience is concluded with a decadent serving of the chef’s special ‘Delicia de Luna’ Ramadan dessert. Featuring dates crémeux, rosewater, pistachio, apricot and camel milk ice cream, the indulgent creation acts as an elegant tribute to the local produce and traditions of the UAE.

The Pisco Bar’s talented mixologists will be on hand throughout to prepare bespoke mocktails and other premium beverages, while COYA Dubai’s distinguished ambiance sets the scene flawlessly for a memorable Ramadan evening.

The iftar menu at COYA Dubai is available to enjoy daily from sunset to 7.30pm throughout Ramadan, priced AED 260 per person.

Set Lunch – Revamped Menu

Colleagues, friends and family members are invited to elevate their lunch time by indulging in COYA Dubai’s freshened up set lunch menu.

Presenting a specially curated menu of COYA’s most delicious Peruvian specialties, the experience offers two sumptuous courses for just AED 130 per person.

Ideal for business meetings or catching up with friends, each diner is welcome to indulge in two delicate appetisers, such as avocado and shiitake mushroom maki rolls, sea bream ceviche, Chilean sea bass croquettes, chicken or mushroom anticuchos, cucumber and green apple salad, and padron peppers. If guests are feeling extra hungry, beef gyozas and prawn and Chilean Sea bass gyozas can be added for an extra cost.

Following these elegant palate pleasers, guests are then asked to select one sumptuous main, including new dishes such as char-grilled sea bream fillet in banana leaf and quinoa, pearly barley and pumpkin iron pot, alongside COYA signature favourites such as corn-fed baby chicken, salmon fillet with stir-fry quinoa, soy and green vegetables, beef ribs and many more delectable options.

Each course can be further enhanced with a choice of special Set Lunch beverages, with prices starting from AED 30 for mocktails, cocktails and beer.

The COYA Dubai Set Lunch menu is available Monday to Thursday from 12.30pm to 3.30pm, for AED 130 per person for two appetisers and one main. 

Dubai Restaurant Week

COYA Dubai is proud to participate in the tenth edition of Dubai Restaurant Week, the prestigious culinary event that highlights the city’s top restaurants and most amazing culinary talents.

Running from April 28 to May 7, the Peruvian hotspot is thrilled to take part alongside 49 of the city’s other leading venues, and present two special limited-edition Restaurant Week menus for guests to enjoy.

Showcasing COYA’s finest signature specialties and the most enrapturing flavours, ingredients and spices of Peru, guests are invited to savour a vibrant lunch set-menu for AED 125 per person, and a distinguished dinner set-menu for AED 350, both available exclusively throughout Restaurant Week.

Pisco Sour & Ceviche Masterclass

Brimming with the flavours, colours and energy of Latin America, COYA Dubai’s Pisco Sour & Ceviche Masterclass is perfect for those who are looking for a different kind of Sunday adventure.

 

Tastemakers are invited to don their aprons, and learn how to mix classic pisco sours, Latin America’s most famous cocktail, and how to create their very own zesty and delectable ceviche, the iconic national dish of Peru.

Starting in the Pisco Bar, COYA’s expert bar team explains the history behind pisco and demonstrating the skilled craftsmanship that goes into infusing every bottle and beverage. Once each guest has prepared their delicious concoction, the highly skilled chefs then present the traditions and techniques behind Peru’s famous ceviche.

Featuring a clear and detailed hands-on demonstration from the culinary team, guests are expertly guided through how to make their own fresh ceviche, and also given the chance to sample two other unmissable signature COYA ceviche recipes.

After the masterclass has concluded, participants are welcome to relax and tuck into a three-course lunch full of COYA favourites. This includes the famous COYA guacamole, a choice of healthy starters such as corn salad, kale y manchego and picante de pepino, followed by sumptuous main courses like grilled corn-fed baby chicken, stir-fry quinoa with green vegetable and Chilean sea bass rice iron pot. Finally, the journey ends with a helping of authentic churros and milk chocolate sauce, or Chicha Morada.
