Newly appointed Executive Chef Toshiyuki Sakamoto has introduced a selection of new dishes to YUi’s menu.

Putting his stamp on the menu, newly appointed Executive Chef Toshiyuki Sakamoto has introduced a selection of new dishes to YUi’s menu for the hotter months.

Created to be light and refreshing for diners looking to satisfy their appetite without feeling sluggish and overheated, the new menu items are both tasty and nutritious.

Putting a cold twist of YUi’s most cherished dish, the new ‘hiyashi chuka’ welcomes guests to get their slurp on without any hot broth. This new cold bowl of ramen combines thin noodles that are made fresh in-house daily using 100% Japanese flour in an aromatic citrus ponzu-tare marinade, served with prawns, plenty of vegetables and an antibiotic-free atsu-yaki egg. A Japanese summer staple, the hiyashi chuka is a refreshing dish cools in warmer weather. Despite its name, translating to chilled Chinese’,  it’s a purely Japanese creation.

Great as a main course or a side to share between two, the new ‘YUi salad’, a traditional Japanese salad, presents atsu-yaki egg with shaven carrots and white radish on a bed of mixed leaves dressed in an unjour dressing with cherry tomatoes and crunchy chips.

The menu has also welcome two new rolls for summer. First, the aptly named ‘summer roll’, a healthy, vegetarian-friendly roll with mixed vegetables in a tasty peanut and sesame sauce wrapped in rice paper. For a heartier bite, the ‘prawn spring roll’ combines a prawn and menma mix in a creamy sauce with an added kick of a mild spicy chili dip on the side.

Along with all existing dishes on YUi’s menu, all elements from the new dishes are made in-house using only the highest quality of ingredients sourced from handpicked suppliers in Japan and local UAE-based farms that forgo any artificial ingredients or preservatives to ensure a true-in-taste dish, every order.

YUi prides itself on presenting diners with dishes created using no MSG and zero chemical seasonings, and aims to create true, deep Japanese flavours through using the right ingredients prepared in a meticulous manner to produce healthier dishes that do not compromise on desired flavours.

YUi’s new dishes can be enjoyed for dine-in at its location in D3 and ordered for home delivery in the neighbouring areas via Deliveroo.
