The Dolder Grand, Zurich to open new summer garden kitchen offering the finest in vegan and vegetarian dining.
The Dolder Grand is set to unveil a new al fresco lifestyle restaurant in June, “blooms”. Situated on the edge of a forest, amid vegetable beds, herbs and fruit bushes, blooms will offer a relaxing outdoor dining experience with an array of light, refined creations on the menu that are either vegetarian or vegan, using only the finest in organic, regional and seasonal ingredients.
Already recognised all over the world as a revered culinary destination thanks to the success of its 2 Michelin starred “The Restaurant”, the recent opening of MIKURIYA omakase restaurant, and wider gourmet offerings, The Dolder Grand is now adding to the incredible culinary diversity on offer with the opening of blooms in June.
Headed by Culinary Director & Chef Fine Dining Heiko Nieder, blooms will offer a unique al fresco dining experience in natural surroundings for hotel guests, city residents and those visiting the hugely popular travel hotspot in the warmer months to enjoy. The summer restaurant concept was borne of a desire to offer healthy, yet highly innovative eating options, using seasonal, organic ingredients, and to address the rising global trend of plant-based eating.
Designed in the style of a terrace, blooms kitchen garden seats 36, with awnings sheltering the tables and kitchen. Light, modern, and simple vegetarian and vegan dishes are served in the flavourful style of The Restaurant – accompanied by summer garden vibes and a glass of grape.
“We are inspired by our kitchen garden – an assortment of vibrant colours, flavours, and tactile sensations. At blooms, many of the delights will come straight from our own garden; otherwise, we’ll source top-quality products from local producers,” says Nieder. Hotel General Manager Markus Granelli adds, “blooms goes far beyond a culinary offering – it embodies a lifestyle. Now with four restaurants in addition to seasonal pop-ups, the Dolder Grand firmly strengthens its positioning as a gastronomic haven in Zurich.”
blooms restaurant will be open from June to September, weather permitting.
