Abu Dhabi, UAE-: Al Ajban Poultry Company has donated over 35,000 kilograms (35 tons) of poultry to charity as part of its humanitarian initiative during the Holy Month of Ramadan. A total of 30,000 kilograms were for the Emirates Red Crescent and 5,000 kilograms were provided to the Al Ihsan Charity Association.
The initiative to distribute free poultry during Ramadan to beneficiaries and the less fortunate members of society within the care of Emirates Red Crescent comes in support of the Red Crescent’s enhanced programs for the Holy Month to reduce the repercussions of the dreadful conditions many people are suffering around the world.
Al Ajban Poultry Company expressed its confidence in the substantial humanitarian role played by the Emirates Red Crescent in the region and around the world. The ERC extended an invitation to all private sector companies to contribute to these efforts, which reflects the humanitarian and altruistic approach instilled by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in the hearts of all the people of the UAE, citizens, residents and leaders alike.
Dr. Mohammed Ezzat El Agamy, General Manager of Al Ajban Poultry Company, stressed that the charitable initiative comes within the company’s corporate social responsibility strategy through its role in providing a certain level of food security for the underprivileged, believing in the necessity of activating socially responsible initiatives by companies and institutions.
El Agamy added that the Ajban Poultry Company’s CSR initiatives are renewed annually with a strong belief in the humanitarian and social role it must fulfil, noting that with the efforts of other charities, companies and institutions operating in the country, we can collectively help the less fortunate and those in need around the world.
Speaking on the donation, Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Ali Al Nuaimi, Director General of Al Ihsan Charity Association, said, “Al Ajban’s initiative comes in the context of compassion and solidarity, and strengthening the bonds of interdependence between different sectors and members of society, and in recognition of its important role in supporting humanitarian work in line with the UAE’s proactive directions in doing good at all levels.
Al Nuaimi added that the company’s contribution is a great honor reflecting the support to the community and constitutes an incentive for more private sector institutions to provide a helping hand to the needy, on behalf of the population of the UAE.”
