Embark on a discovery of Italian coastal flavours this summer at artisanal eatery, Monno

Bringing fresh flavours inspired by coastal Italian summers, Monno Ristorante in Jumeirah has launched a new artisanal menu for diners to enjoy during Dubai’s warmer months.

Transporting guests to Italy’s seafood-abundant shores this summer, Monno’s new menu was thoughtfully curated by Italian Head Chef Federico Bartoli and his team, to showcase this season’s delights from the Mediterranean and Atlantic, while remaining true and respectful to both ingredient and Italian culinary tradition.

From exclusively using San Marzano tomatoes and olive oils, to importing artisanal Italian cheeses like Parmigiano Reggiano from Parma and fior di latte mozzarella from Napoli for handmade pasta and genuine Neapolitan pizzas, Monno’s new menu features a range of antipasti, main courses, pastas and pizzas, plus traditional desserts.

A delicious start to the dining experience awaits, with new antipasti dishes including Italian shrimp panzanella salad with tomatoes, basil and chili caviar, there’s also ‘la tana del polpo’ – slow-cooked octopus served with potato cream and seaweed tapioca cracker, and adding locality to the new menu, Dibba Bay Oysters with vanilla mignonette and almond foam. For a meaty bite, there’s melt-in-the-mouth Black Angus short rib with Italian coleslaw.

Additions to the first course selection include Atlantic lobster risotto with Acquerello rice and mouthwatering lobster bisque, as well as spaghetti alla chitarra dressed in an aromatic beurre blanc sauce with lemongrass and shallots, generously topped with Oscietra caviar.

When it comes to pasta and pizza, Monno keeps it classic Italian with all dough made in-house and shaped by hand. On the summer menu, guests will find new pasta dishes like fusilloni in an artisanal butter and red cow Parmigiano Reggiano sauce with juniper, as well as gnocchi sorrentina in a homemade cherry tomato sauce with buffalo mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano and fresh basil.

On to mains, a new Mediterranean seabass dish awaits, served with spinach sponge cake and a beurre blanc drizzle, as well as meatier options including lamb roll with provolone cheese, smoked pancetta, Roman artichoke, and fermented lemon, plus veal fillet in a peppercorn sauce with potato terrine.

In true Italian style, authentic pizzas also feature on the menu. Must-try slices include ‘Salamino di Wagyu’ with spicy wagyu beef salami and smoked mozzarella, the ‘Burrata’ pizza with double tomato sauce, fresh basil, creamy burrata and extra virgin olive oil, as well as the ‘Fruti di Mare’ pizza with San Marzano DOP tomato sauce, garlic, calamari, shrimps, tomato confit, olives extra virgin olive oil and oregano.

New desserts, offer a true taste of Italy and were created in collaboration with famed Italian Pastry Chef Matteo Manzotti. Those with a sweet tooth can enjoy new options like ‘Black Mirror’ – a dark chocolate mousse with raspberry, ‘Sicily’ made from Sicilian pistachio and white chocolate, and the ‘Rocher’ with caramel chocolate and gianduia – all in addition to favourited Italian classics like tiramisu and panettone.
